Welcome to my blog! This is a space to share my thoughts, feelings, stories or anything really, about my journey as an Indigenous entrepreneur, a creator, designer, partner, mom-of-three, working-mom etc.

Creating friday.night.beading.club and the BOO-zhee Board

I soft-launched 'friday.night.beading.club' in November of 2022. I spent September to November prototyping the first versions of what became the BOO-zhee Board. It took months to create a marketable product to be ready for the 2022 holiday season. Things have just kind of taken off since then, in small weird increments. I continued to play with the design and decided to pitch the BOO-zhee Board at the 2023 Pow Wow Pitch competition. I made it all the way to the finals, and won the 'Alumni' award! The last half of 2023 was truly a wild ride and I am so grateful for the experience.

What's next?

2024 is about continuing to build community as well as a strong base for this business. Like all small-batch creators, I do it all. So figuring out a good balance between work and family, and finding enough hours in the day to do it all, is going to be a big part of my vision for this year. I want to focus on some new products and prototyping as much as I can, but also just going with the flow.
